After clicking on "Save and create .htaccess" in .htaccess Maker page, SecureImage does not load image in the Contact Form of my site. I chose all default values, making no changes, in the security settings.

It seems that some of the settings are in conflict with SecureImage function.

Best regards,

Aleksandar

That is a fairly common problem. Please see the documentation here: https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/troubleshooter/athtaccessexceptions.html for information on how to resolve it.

What is practical difference between "Save without creating .htaccess" and "Save and create .htaccess". If I have already one .htaccess file, what happens with it when saving without creating .httacess and when creating .htaccess?

Best reagrds,

Aleksandar

If you have made changes to the .htaccess Maker settings, then "Save without making .htaccess" will simply save the changes without regenerating the .htaccess file.

When you create a new .htaccess file, the existing file is saved as htaccess.admintools as a backup.

I followed instructions from the referred documentation (https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/troubleshooter/athtaccessexceptions.html). I located two directories where there is a failure to load resource, and added these directories in the exception list.

I added the address of these directories both in the field "Allow direct access, including .php files, to these directories" and "Allow direct access, except .php files, to these directories", but there was no improvement. There is still a filure to load the recaptcha recource.

Best regards,

Aleksandar

Aleksandar,

It is probably a php file that is causing the problem, so you would need to add the exceptions in "Allow direct access, including .php files, to these directories".

You have your two problem directories added as exceptions there and regenerate the .htaccess file. If that doesn't fix it there must be some other file being blocked.

Are you using HostGator's cache service? I have never used it on my account, but the cache could cause your fix to not be recognized until the cache clears.

If there are some other file being blocked, it does not say in the Console (of Chrome browser). It repports only for the directories that I have made exception for.

I am not using HostGator cache service.

Hello Aleksandar!

Can you please paste me a link to a page where the CAPTCHA image is shown? It will help me understand what is being blocked and give you the correct instructions.

Please add
plugins/captcha/securimage/lib/show.php

in a new line inside the "Allow direct access to these files" area in Admin Tools' .htaccess Maker, then click on "Save & Create .htaccess".
