I was just installing the professional version of Admin Tools for the first time of my life…
Tried to use Htaccess Maker to protect my website.
And just after, it was impossible for me to access my website and the /administrator/index.php.

I have just a page with this message :

Your host needs to use PHP 5.3.1 or higher to run this version of Joomla!
It was not the case before
I destroyed in ftp the .htaccees created by your application. But it didn't change anything.
Please, can you help me anyway.

Best regards,

Michel Renaud.

Sometimes hosts default to an old version of PHP but give you the option of running a newer version by putting a special command in your .htaccess file. You would have to add that special command to the "top of file" field in .htaccess Maker or it would be lost when you generated your new file.

Check the root of your site for a htaccess.admintools file. This would be a backup of the file before .htaccess Maker was run. Usually the command we're looking for is an AddHander command, but not always. If you find it, you can put it in an .htaccess file by itself to get Joomla! working again, then add it to .htaccess Maker so it goes into your new .htaccess file. If you can't find it, you will have to check with your host's support (or their help pages - this is pretty common) because the command format changes from one host to another and I can't tell you what it should be.
