 Hello,

My team and I have lately been receiving requests about accounts being de-activated. We're using the feature that de-activates a user after X number of failed attempts.

However, upon further inspection, the users aren't just getting de-activated, but completely deleted. For each user that has had their account de-activated, we can't go and re-activate it, we have to re-create the user.

We're hoping to restore the original functionality of just the de-activation.

Thanks,
raustin1

I think that your problem is that you have also enabled the automatic deletion of inactive users. Please go to Extensions, Manage Plugins and edit the "System - Admin Tools" plugin. Check these settings: https://www.dropbox.com/s/nbn3ixay4p2dp2n/Screenshot%202014-06-30%2023.03.31.png The Delete inactive users should be set to None. Otherwise the user with the failed login attempts is disabled and then the "Delete inactive users" feature kicks in and deletes the now inactive user.
