Hi, I have a site that's running on Joomla! 2.5.14. I put admin tools pro on it so i could update the joomla version and it's not allowing me, it's saying You will not be able to install updates automatically. You need Joomla! 2.5.19 or any later version in the Joomla! 2.5.x range OR Joomla! 3.2.1 or later. Older versions of Joomla! do not support updates of paid extensions. Please upgrade your version of Joomla! to receive Admin Tools updates.

How do i go about updating joomla 2.5.14 to the most recent version of joomla 2.5XX? in the joomla documentaion it doesn't say how to update 2.5 x to a higher version of 2.5x only 2.5x to 3x

in admin tools there use to be a way to update to version 3x, but that doesn't seem possible. Is it not recommended? or is it a bigger update?

Admin Tools does not have the ability to update Joomla! itself. You probably have a Quick Tile on your Joomla! Control Panel advising you that there is an update available, just click on that tile and it will take you to Joomla!'s own update screen.

If the tile is not visible, then you need to enable the "Quick Icon - Joomla! Update Notification" under plugins.

Akeeba does have a new extension, Akeeba CMS Updater that will perform the same function. It is considered an alpha release. The current version works well but Nicholas is not finished teaching it new tricks yet.

ok so i was able to update joomla to a more recent version. I installed admin tools pro twice, but it's not showing up in my toolbar, just admin tools.

The "Pro" label would not show up in the menu. You can see that the Pro version is installed on the Admin Tools Control Panel, the version information is on the right side.
