 AdminTools recently blocked an IP address for a third party application security exception. The application noted is "ARSscraper." What is this? I have never seen this type of violation before and wonder what it is and what is involved.

Hello Don,

that happens when a user tried to download a pro version of your software and he supplied a wrong Download ID several times in a row.
That triggers a security exception and gets an auto ban by Admin Tools.

Thanks, Davide. That's very interesting - in this case, I think that applies to any download attempted since I use Akeeba Release System to manage document file downloads. I don't use Download IDs; I know that each download has a unique ID but I haven't set the My Downloads or Download ID modules.

If you want you can disable the autoban feature inside ARS component options.
