 Hi,

I got this error when installing admin tools:
"Error
Admin Tools is not configured to protect your site just yet. Please use the Quick Setup Wizard to get started. Alternatively you may configure it manually or import a configuration file you've exported from another Admin Tools installation."

And when I create a htaccess file I get a 500 error.

I've never sin the mentioned error before, and I've been using admin tools for years... clueless about what's my next step.

Hello,

these are two different issues.
The message you see is created by the new version of Admin Tools, since we added a Quick Setup Wizard. You can follow it or ignore it, that won't affect your site.
Regarding your 500 error, this means that some instructions included inside the htaccess are not parsed by your server. You should ask support to your host, so he can analyze it and find what's not supported.

But I have 50++ sites running on the same server using admin tools without this problem?

It's also a fairly clean install of joomla.

I just want to post the solution for others to check out as well.

As mentioned, I'm on Rochen.

This is what solved it:

"Thank you for contacting Rochen. I see that the "TraceEnable off" command in your .htaccess was causing that 500 error, as that command is not allowed to be defined via .htaccess. I've gone ahead and commented out that line, then confirmed your site now appears to load correctly with the .htaccess in place. "
