 Hi Just a quick Question.

I keep getting files uploaded to my site and its sends out spam. So I bought admin tools and installed, It has been picking up Upload Shield almost every night. The ip is always ukraine. So Have done a geo ip block on all countries except the few in the pacific I sell to and the uk. But last night I had upload shield again for the ukraine,

My question is "Shouldnt the geo block stop them from accessing the site"?

Also is it possible to blacklist the attacker after just 1 upload shield violation? But not black list login fails or anything else after just one.

Regards
Gareth

The GeoIP block is not a very secure method of blocking attackers. The third party database is about 90% accurate, so there is some error in identifying where the IP is located. It is very easy for a human attacker to circumvent the protection, they simply log into a proxy server in an allowed country and keep on trying.

You can control the types of files that your users are allowed to upload using .htaccess Maker. The file will not be uploaded if it is not an allowed type.

You can not have different auto ban settings for different types of security exceptions.
