 Hi, Nicholas & co!
I'm grasping for straws here but this problem:
https://www.kunena.org/forum/kunena-support-reporting-defects/137228-kunena-not-attaching-uploaded-attachment-file
is driving me crazy. As it says I've tried disabling Admin Tools created htaccess-file and replaced it with the Joomla original one. I just tried disabling everything under WEF / Active Request FIltering and Project Honeypot but still no luck. Is there any other way Admin Tools could block attaching an image to a Kunena forum message?

Basically I'm looking for confirmation that this problem is not due to Admin Tools so I can move on to other less likely Joomla addons.

Try disabling the UploadShield in the Web Application Firewall. Since Joomla! 3.4.1 you do not need to enable this option in Admin Tools: the UploadShield code is now part of Joomla! (we contributed it to Joomla! to improve the security for everyone).

Oh dear, busy again? :)
"I just tried disabling everything under WEF / Active Request FIltering and Project Honeypot but still no luck."
And the UploadShied I took off earlier. No luck there.

Well, I'd rather be safe than sorry. I've replied to so many tickets where "everything" means "everything I thought was relevant" that my default response is to ignore the words "everything" and "latest" :D

So, let's make one final test. Since you have already replaced the .htaccess file the only thing that remains is completely disabling Admin Tools by unpublishing the System - Admin Tools plugin. I don't know if you've tried that already. Kunena's site doesn't allow me to read their forum because I'm using an ad blocker for privacy and security reasons (I don't want drive by viruses delivered through ads, thank you). I refuse to compromise my security and privacy to read a thread on a third party forum.

If the problem persists contact Kunena's authors and tell them to check their code. Joomla applies the UploadShield protection on all upload forms unless the developer explicitly requests the files array with the "raw" filter through the application's JInput. That last bit should read like Chinese to you but the Kunena developers know what it means and how to fix their code.

A wise attitude. :)

Done. Disabling the plugin did not solve the problem. Which confirms that this is not Admin Tools issue.

I checked enabled/disabled plugins earlier but no help there either. Got no clue where to check next.

Too bad you can't check the Kunena's forum, there's quite a bit of info about this troubleshooting. I too do use DNT, AdBlockPlus and PrivaceBadger but I can use the forum when I log in. Jelle Kok has taken a look at the site:
"when I access your site, I see many issues, I can't open a topic. I think you need to recreate menu, or disable sef for the moment, and look if its working correct." was his two cents on the subject. Did those things and have been reporting back but that's it it seems.

But thanks, you're a treasure to be sure. I'll fiddle around and see what I can come up with,
