Hi,

I have a similar issue to:
https://www.akeebabackup.com/support/admin-tools/25427-application-instantiation-error-akeeba-engine-detected-a-problem-while-saving-temporary-data.html

After upgrading Admin Tools from 3.8.3 to 3.8.5 the cron job for automatic php file scan stopped working.

I tried the CLI command from an SSH session and got this:
Admin Tools PHP File Scanner CLI 3.8.5 (2016-06-21)

You are using PHP 5.6.22 (cli)

Unsetting time limit restrictions
Starting file scanning

Error displaying the error page: Application Instantiation Error: Akeeba Engine detected a problem while saving temporary data. Please restart your backup

I tried the solution proposed in the following ticket with no success:
https://www.akeebabackup.com/support/admin-tools/25427-application-instantiation-error-akeeba-engine-detected-a-problem-while-saving-temporary-data.html

Further info;
- I can run the scan from the backend manually with no problem
- I use a different path for the tmp and log folders from the default one used by Joomla. However when in Admin Tools i click the button "temp and log directory check" it finds the right paths. I read the change log for Admin Tools and it says that the new version was preparing for the new location for the tmp and log folders in Joomla 3.6

Looking forward to a solution, thanks!

Actually, there is an issue with running the scan from the back end, the email with the scan results is now sent as plain text email but with all the HTML mark up, hence it is unreadable.

CLI based scans and HTML results email were working fine on Admin tools 3.8.3

thanks!
