Is there a way that I can log all successful logins? I have been using the email feature to get emailed when someone logs in, but I can't see a way to add a successful login to the admin tools log. (probably just my poor reading of the docs and config, but any help would be welcome!)

Thanks

You can get an email about successful back-end logins but you cannot (and MUST not!) log them. Successful logins are not security exceptions. If we were to log them as such a number of successful logins would end up blocking you from accessing your own site: the automatic IP blacklisting of repeat offenders is based on the Security Exceptions Log. Not to mention how confusing it would be seeing successful logins being reported as security exceptions.

Successful frontend logins are never reported. They are not interesting as far as security goes. Therefore it'd make no sense for a security component to log them at all.

I believe that what you are looking for is an audit trail component, recording administrator logins and administrative actions. I've been told that there a couple of them available on the Joomla Extensions Directory.
