 Just tried to update to 4.0 and am getting this error:

Fatal error: Class 'F0FPlatform' not found in /home/hogc3910/public_html/plugins/system/admintools/feature/blockinstall.php on line 21

Cannot get into the front or backend any longer

That's because Joomla! didn't complete the installation (it skipped replacing a few critical files). Delete the plugins/system/admintools directory to get back to your site. Then install the new version of Admin Tools twice in a row without uninstalling it in between or before. This will convince Joomla! to write all the new files and let the component and the plugin work properly.
