 Hi,
have installed AdminTools this weekend and right after the first trial to access the homepage I got this message: "Your host needs to use PHP 5.3.10 or higher to run this version of Joomla!"
The same message pops up also at the Admin site and I cannot enter the system. But the PHP version installed is 7.0.2.

Have read earlier tickets and tried to change .htaccess to .bak but even this didnot help.
Finally my hosting company made a recovery to an earlier version of my site and now it works, but without AdminTools.
But I want to use it.

In order not to lock me out again by installing AdminTools, what should I do?
Thanks!

I think what happened was that the first run wizard ran the .htaccess Maker and gave you a new, security enhanced .htaccess file. That's a good thing. But it replaced the file you had there, in this case, that's not a good thing. The default version of PHP from your host is less than 5.3.10, you are forcing the 7.0.2 version through a command in the .htaccess file. When your .htaccess file was overwritten with the new one, that command was lost.

All we need to do is look at your current (restored) .htaccess file and find the line that changes the PHP version, probably an ADDHANDLER line. Put that line in the Custom commands at the top of the file field in .htaccess Maker so that it is in the new .htaccess file.

When .htaccess Maker runs the first time, it creates a htaccess.admintools file. This is a backup of your .htaccess file before .htaccess Maker was run, so you can easily reverse the changes if something like this happens. The standard Joomla! file that we normally recommend did not work for you because the ADDHANDLER command is unique to your site.

Hi Dale,
thanks for the quick and useful help, the site is working again.
A good lesson for me: now I reinstall AdminTools step-by-step and check after each step if the system works. So far, ideal.
Thanks and best regards,
Andreas
