Dear support,

I installed a new Joomla extension that uses Guzzle PHP.

However, Akeeba's old Guzzle from GeoIP generate a fatal error "0 Call to undefined method GuzzleHttp\Utils::chooseHandler()"

Why does Admintools still use the old Guzzle legacy version? How can this be fixed?

Many thanks in advance,

Nico

We have discontinued the GeoIP plugin in January 2020. We are not using it in any of our software for more than a year. Admin Tools 6 most definitely does NOT use this plugin, at all.

Please read https://www.akeeba.com/news/1727-removal-of-geographic-ip-features-from-akeeba-software.html You need to uninstall this plugin. It serves no purpose.

Hi Nicholas,

Thanks for your quick response and all your work to keep our websites safe!

Strange it wasn't removed on an update? What is the best way to remove that element?

I have so much Nicholas-Akeeba software installed on my system, during the years. Can you please check the attached screen prints and tell me which of them can be removed without causing problems?

Sunny greetings from Holland,

Nico

P.s. If something is not readable, please let me know and I will try to create a better list.

The plugin was not included with our software. It had to be installed separately. Therefore it cannot be removed automatically since it was not part of the package you installed in the first place. Furthermore it was shared between different pieces of software. Removing it automatically would be a bad idea.

You can definitely remove the following extensions:

  • Akeeba Backup Notification Module. Discontinued in 2011.
  • JMonitoring - Akeeba Backup. Discontinued in 2013 when JMonitoring was bought out and became Watchful.
  • System - One Click Action. Discontinued in 2015 IIRC.

You can MAYBE remove the following (they MAY be still used by third parties unaffiliated with Akeeba Ltd):

  • F0F (NEW) DO NOT REMOVE
  • AkeebaStrapper
