Hi,

Since several weeks, I'm unable to update Admin Tools trhough joomla update system.

I get always the same error message, see attached file.

Previously, everything was working file.

Our software does not have an updater of its own. In fact, we are not allowed to. The Joomla Extensions Directory rules demand that we use Joomla's built-in extensions updater. Unfortunately, Joomla can "lose" the Download ID even though you've entered it correctly in the component options. You can read https://www.akeeba.com/documentation/admin-tools/update.html#update-troubleshooting for more background information.

But let's get to the solutions.

First, try publishing the Installer – Admin Tools plugin. In most cases this is enough to work around the issue.

If this doesn't work you will need to use the process outlined in https://www.akeeba.com/documentation/admin-tools/update.html#dlid-change-after-update to re-enter your Download ID and convince Joomla to use it. Please note that all steps must be carried out, in the exact order described even if you think that a step is unnecessary. There are three different Joomla bugs which can get in your way. I have personally spent nearly a week debugging the Joomla extensions updater, uncovering the bugs which plague it and coming up with a workaround that has the minimum number of steps possible to work around those bugs.
