I have installed Admin Tools on a new Joomla 4.0.2 website. On setting up the WAF initially, I find that on the EXCEPTIONS tab there are a load of IP addresses already present under "Never block these IPs" and a load of domains already presetn in the "Never block these domains" section.

I am rather concerned as to how they got there and why they are there. If I remove them all and SAVE then log out of the back end of my site, close the browser, open a browser and log in again, all the IPs and Domains have been restored!

This doesn't seem like something that Akeeba would do without documenting the reason why and I can find no reason.

I have looked at my older 3.10.1 Joomla sites running vers 6.1.1 of Admin Tools and that is the same.

Could you please shed any light on what might be happening here?

Thank you

Dave

These are the safe IP address range and domain names of major search engines. We preload them to prevent a number of issues where false positives would result in your site dropping off the index of major search engines.

They are currently documented for Admin Tools 6 in https://www.akeeba.com/documentation/admin-tools/web-application-firewall.html#waf-configure-exceptions under “Never block these IPs” and “Allowed domains”. I am not sure why the Admin Tools 7 documentation wasn't updated. I will look into it.

Ok, thank you for explaining! That makes perfect sense. :-)
