Hi,

I'm being plagued by manual spam from our contact info form. The Bad Words filtering is blocking the majority. I would like to know how to import a bad word list I found to block even more.

Thank you

You can't import directly from the component but you can import directly into the database. The table you are looking for is aptly named #__admintools_badwords where #__ is the common table name prefix of your site (open configuration.php, check the value of the $prefix option).

The only field you need to import is word. The other field is an auto–generated ID which means that you must not, in fact, include it.

I believe that you can convert your words list with Excel or a similar spreadsheet application to CSV format which is supported by phpMyAdmin, Adminer and similar web–based MySQL management tools for importing data to the database.

Thank you Nicholas, much appreciated. I'll give it a try. Maybe a good candidate for a feature request in the future.
