We are using Weeblr 4SEO component v1.5.1.1386.  We are having a problem rendering the sitemap page:

https://www.militaryplaques.com/sitemap-4seo.xml

The site map is being generated as seen in the page source code:

view-source:https://www.militaryplaques.com/sitemap-4seo.xml

Weeblr have stated that this is due to the XLS file being blocked.  We have checked the server settings and it's OK.

In addition we have added direct access for the following:

media/com_forseo/vendor/weblr/forseo/assets/sitemap/sitemap-4seo.xsl
sitemap.en-GB.4seo.1.xml.gz
sitemap.en-GB.4seo.2.xml.gz
sitemap.en-GB.4seo.3.xml.gz

And have:

RewriteRule ^sitemap-4seo\.xml$ – [L]

in .htaccess

but still luck.  Any advise on how to proceed would be great.

Many thanks

John

Hello,

since the file is "virtual" and not a real one, the rules in the .htaccess file will block it, no matter what. You have to manually add a rule on the field "Custom rules at the top of the .htaccess file" like you did.

I suspect you need to quote the dash, too. So it should be something like this:

RewriteRule ^sitemap\-4seo\.xml$ – [L]

Can you please try again?

Thanks - Added:

RewriteRule ^sitemap\-4seo\.xml$ – [L]

But still have the same error at

https://www.militaryplaques.com/sitemap-4seo.xml

Weeblr state it may be CloudFlare or more likely the server settings???

If you take a look at the HTML code you will see that the page is actually loading. The URL that is blocked is

media/com_forseo/vendor/weeblr/forseo/assets/sitemap/sitemap-4seo.xsl

Please add that file in the exclusion list as well.

Thanks - I had that in the exclusions.

I just left the page renderring for 10 minutes and on refresh it came up

https://www.militaryplaques.com/sitemap-4seo.xml

Next stage is that the links to the sitemaps are 404?

https://www.militaryplaques.com/sitemap.en-GB.4seo.1.xml.gz

https://www.militaryplaques.com/sitemap.en-GB.4seo.2.xml.gz

I'll try to create an exclusion and I'll get back to Weeblr :-)

Ok, let me know if creating exclusions fixes the problem.

Yes Many thanks - got me on the right track and was able to work through things:

1)Exceptions

Allow direct access to these files:

media/com_forseo/vendor/weeblr/forseo/assets/sitemap/sitemap-4seo.xsl

2) Custom .htaccess rules

Custom .htaccess rules at the top of the file:

## 4SEO Sitemap ##
RewriteRule ^sitemap\-4seo\.xml$ – [L]
RewriteRule ^sitemap\.en\-GB\.4seo\.1\.xml\.gz$ – [L]
RewriteRule ^sitemap\.en\-GB\.4seo\.2\.xml\.gz$ – [L]
RewriteRule ^sitemap\.en\-GB\.4seo\.3\.xml\.gz$ – [L]
## 4SEO Sitemap ##
