Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? YES
Have I searched the tickets before posting? YES
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? YES
Joomla! version: 2.5.4 Stable
PHP version: 5.3.8
MySQL version: (unknown)
Host: (optional, but it helps us help you)
Admin Tools version: 2.2.5

Description of my issue:

On Joomla 2.5 backend i cannot acces my K2 items. Disabling caching as many adviced did not solve the issue. See below which i think could be my only last option.
So my question is how I can solve this without uninstalling Admintools

Let's forget the fact that me and Fotis (JoomlaWorks) are friends and that he's using Admin Tools Core on each and every site he has installed K2 on. I mean, if there was something that major, he'd have told me and I'd have fixed. I actually tested your claim by installing K2 2.5.4 (yes, it's a little old) and Admin Tools 2.2.5 on Joomla! 2.5.4 on five different servers (three local test servers and two live servers). In all cases I was able to see the K2 Dashboard just fine.

The important thing to note is that the "K2 Quick Icons (admin)" administrator module should be published with an order greater than that of the "Admin Tools Joomla! Upgrade Notification" administrator module. Normally, that's the case as Admin Tools' module has a priority of 99 and Admin Tools' module has a priority less than 10. In any case, since you're using Joomla! 2.5.4, you can safely unpublish the "Admin Tools Joomla! Upgrade Notification" module.

Thanks for your reply.

However I have not been able to find these modules on my system

See attachment..that's the only plugins near to it.

And just to be clear I wasn't plan to uninstall admintools :)

If you read my post and look at the page's header in your screenshot I believe it will be evident why you don't find the administrator modules in the plug-in manager page. It's like looking for apples on an orange tree.

Hello Nicholas,

I wasn't able to find a module matching your query...
Where else can I find these modules in order to disable them?

Maybe I don't have them installed?

Still not able to see my K2 dashboard :(

Go to your site's back-end. See the Extensions menu? Hover your mouse over it. A menu expands. Click on Module Manager (not Plugin Manager!). A new page loads. Towards the top-left there is a drop-down which currently reads "Site". Click on it. Select "Administrator". If you still can't find the module, I would recommend signing up to Lynda.com and watching Jen Kramer's excellent series on Joomla! basics.

Hello Nicholas,

After disabling the admin joomla notification i can't still access my K2 dashboard item.
Only the comment items i can see.

If you also have Akeeba Backup installed, you should unpublish the "Akeeba Backup Notification Module" administrator module which works in a similar way and may cause this problem.

If this doesn't work, please try disabling the "System - Admin Tools" plugin and tell me if that worked.

In this case there is no Admin Tools or Akeeba Backup code running on your site when you visit its Control Panel page, where you have the issue with K2. As a result, you've just proven that Admin Tools and this issue are not linked. You can further test that by trying to uninstall Admin Tools.

Well, since you have uninstalled Admin Tools, it's certainly not related to your problem. Normally, you should ask for support at K2's support forum. I would recommend one last ditch effort before doing that:
- install K2's package on your site, without uninstalling K2 first. This will refresh K2's files.
- Clear your browser cache and cookies and restart your browser

If that still doesn't help, you'll have to seek support in the K2 forum.
