 Hello

My site does not load in admin OR in front end.
http://68.168.115.74/~cruisetob2/
Not supported

I renamed main. I renamed admin htaccess and password.

Can you help?

Joomla! doesn't like the tilde in the temporary URL.

You can disable Admin Tools from outside Joomla! with the instructions here: https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/troubleshooter/atwafissues.html but I don't think that will solve the problem. When you rename the main.php file and restore the default .htaccess file in the root of your site, Admin Tools is completely disabled.

I have done that. Still crashed.

The main.php file may still exist in a cache in your browser or site. Otherwise, you have eliminated Admin Tools as the cause of the problem.

I had already renamed that file weeks ago. The only one not eliminated was the htaccess in admin.
How about akeeba. Could this be the culprit?

Joomla! 3.7.0 is a real mess from the standpoint of third party extensions. They broke something in the session management that prevents our cli programs from running - actually anyone's cli programs. They have a date handling issue for PHP versions less than 7 (I know it is version sensitive, I think it is less) and they have a css issue that affect how some buttons work. If you have the option to go back to 3.6.5 and wait for the release of 3.7.1, do it.

The "not supported" message you're getting doesn't sound like any error message that would come from Akeeba Backup. Generally Backup doesn't affect the front end of the site. You may be able to get a clue out of the server error log, but with the message displayed on the screen, whatever is happening may be intercepted and is giving that message, so it never gets to the error log. You may also get a clue by editing configuration.php and changing your error reporting to "development".

I had another idea. Watch your PHP version. Hosts frequently use very old versions of PHP as their default version and you change to a more modern version using a command in the .htaccess file. If you replaced your .htaccess file with the Joomla! default - or ran .htaccess Maker for the first time, that command calling the newer PHP version could be missing.
