EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:
I have recently recovered from a fairly serious stroke and in attempting to get back to work and bring my joomla hosted web sites up to date I find that one of them is still using Joomla 1.5.26 ( with backups being done by Joomlapack ).

I am intending to do a new Joomla 3.2 install into another root directory ( /jooma3/ for example )

Can i use the latest Akkeba backup product to restore a backup done on the JoomlaPack app in Joomla 1.5.26 folder ?/

That won't work. Think about it for a moment, your backup will overwrite the 3.2 installation and what you'll end up with is a 1.5 site (probably a broken 1.5 site for reasons we don't need to go into).

There is a third party extension, JUpgrade, that migrated Joomla! 1.5 sites to 2.5. My understanding is that the ‎redMIGRATOR component is a better choice, the continuation of the development of the JUpgrade work. You can find both with a Google search.

Good luck with your upgrade!
