EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

I recently migrated a site from Joomla 2.5.28 to 3.3.6.

I just purchased the akeeba backup/admin tools package.

The backup was failing. I discovered that it was failing when it tried to access the tables created by Fabrik 3.2 which I use for forms on the site. When I excluded non core tables, the backups complete normally. I had previously backed up these tables without issue.

I'd appreciate any thoughts on how to fix this.

thanks

chris

Your tmp folder in Joomla!'s Global Configuration is pointed to your site root. That won't work. It is normally pointed to a /tmp folder located in the root of your site. It is good that the database backup failed because you might have thought you had a good backup otherwise.

The second problem is that I count six different sets of Joomla! tables in your database, one set of bak_ tables and a bunch of miscellaneous tables that I can't identify. If you are trying to back up multiple sites in one backup run, that is a bad idea. It may work for the backup, but the restore is a real nightmare. You should exclude the tables not associated with your current site by using the Eliminate Tables filter.
