EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:
After upgrade from joomla 2.5, the backup is not working anymore. configuration assistant is doing nothing, backup now-button also. You can click it, but nothing happens, no error, nothing. Could not upload a log, because I have none!

Any idea?

Have you tried clearing your browser's cache after upgrading from Joomla! 2.5 to Joomla! 3.4.1? Your browser unfortunately has cached the old versions of Joomla!'s own Javascript files therefore causing Javascript issues throughout the site's frontend and backend.

I used Nonumber Cache Cleaner, but nothing changed.

got the following js-errors:

Please note that I did NOT ask you to clear Joomla!'s cache (which is what NoNumber's Cache Cleaner does). I asked you to clear your browser's cache which is an entirely different thing. Based on the errors you posted this is exactly what you should do, clear your browser's cache.

The process is different depending on your browser. Try searching Google for "YourBrowser clear cache" e.g. "Firefox clear cache" if you're using Firefox or "Chrome clear cache" if you're using Chrome and so on.

the browser cache ist not the problem. it happens on different computers and browsers. and of coursse I did a "Hard reload and empty cache" in chrome...

webfeuerflo
Please note, that I also cannot change the configuration, because the page only shows the profil name, but no options.

It sounds like you have a third party system plugin which replaces Joomla!'s jQuery with its own, very old version. Please try disabling your system plugins one by one to see which one is the culprit.

Do note that we are developing and testing our software on a default installation of Joomla! 3.4.1 and we can tell you right upfront that there is no such issue with the official Joomla! files. If you get a jQuery compatibility error then it's most definitely a 3PD plugin causing it.

It's interesting. tried different templates, disabled all plugins, modules and components nothing would work. I then downloaded a fresh joomla 3.4.1 package and overwrote all files in my installation and now akeeba backup is working!

Sounds like some core Joomla! files didn't get updated the first time around. Well, that's really rare! Maybe you should buy a lottery ticket tonight :) (That's what I tell myself when I solve a very improbable issue!)

yeah, the strange is though, that everything else seemed to be working well...
