EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:
I have noticed on several of my sites that Akeeba makes multiple log-files and they are from 4-8 mb each.
Are these important or can I delete them?
Can I turn a feature of to stop them from being made?

Kind regards
Thomas

You can prevent them from being created by changing the Log Level in Configuration to "None". But that is a really bad idea. If you have a problem with a backup, we will not be able to diagnose it properly without a full log.

You can control how many old backups are saved on your system by using the quota settings in Configuration. The log file will be deleted with the obsolete backup.

Yes, you can manually delete them. They are only useful for diagnosing problems with the associated backup archive.

Thanks!
I keep my backup files for 30 days, so it's weird that I see logfiles from 2015?
And several from 1 day...

Different backup profiles could have different quota settings. It is possible that there was an error during the clean up phase of the backup and the log didn't get deleted. If the backup archive and log file are not being deleted on a consistent basis, then we need to look at file permissions to figure out where it is going wrong.

Thanks Dale...

I will delete the files manually and check the folder on a regular basis to see if it keeps doing this :-)

You are welcome!
