EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

While extracting a backup file with Akeeba Kickstart Professional 4.2.0, I get this message:

An error occured

Unexpected token )

Backup has been taken last week, I keep my sites up to date, so recent version of Akeeba Backup used.

I don't know how to run ALICE (I did read the doc, but didn't help - for backup issues only?)

Meanwhile I updated Backup and created a new backup. Got a bit further this time, but eventually the script stops at finalization.

Last message is
"Schließe Wiederherstellung ab
Aktualisiere .htaccess"

I don't know why this is in german, I have no language file copied. Anyway, it means "Finalizing restoration, updating .htaccess"

and that's where it ends. I then clicked the "clean up" button and went to the front page: "A 50X error occurred"

The freeze when finalizing is a known problem in the 5.0.x series but it should be fixed in your 5.1.0 version. Please double check that you have 5.1.0.b1 installed.

If you do have 5.1.0.b1 installed, then the upgrade was incomplete. Please install 5.1.0.b1 twice, back to back, without doing anything else in between. Do not uninstall, that will cause you to lose your settings and possibly your stored backup archives.

If you are not able to do a new backup, we can fix the 5.0.x backup archive.

ok, I'll try that, thanks. Thanks also for the offer to fix the archive. The site is not broken, so I don't need to restore a particular backup right now.
