EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

Backup fails every time, but used to work. I have tried all the changes requested in the error messages, apart from Temp directory (couldn't find an entry for that anywhere).

dlb
Akeeba Backup uses Joomla!'s temp directory setting from Global Configuration.

Without the error messages and a backup log, that is all the assistance that I can provide.

/mnt/webj/d0/50/5911750/htdocs/test/tmp is the temp directory. There was a log attached, have attached it again.

dlb
The log is not coming through. You will need to zip it if it is too large. If it will not work, you can just throw it on a file service like Dropbox and send me the link. Thank you.

Strange, it was zipped, am trying again unzipped

Have changed the temp dir to DEFAULT_OUTPUT but akeeba warns me that that is the root directory and may not work as expected

dlb
That is not the problem. You backup is going along nicely and then just stops. It could be lack of disk space or inodes. It could be that your host limits the size of a file that you can create and a 2 Gb part size is too large. If you have enough disk space, then change your part size to 50 Mb and try again. That is going to create a lot of parts. We can try to adjust it up if that is the problem, but we want a small value now to see if that is it.

Are you backing up multiple sites on this backup? You have one in root and another in /test? Also, there are a lot of files in the limesurvey/tmp folder, do you need to back them up?

Changing the part size has done the trick, I suspect the provider has a 2GB limit. I will set the size up to something like 1.5GB and see how that works.

Thank you for your help.

dlb
That's exactly what you needed to do! You are welcome!
