Description of my issue:

We love Akeeba Backup! Awesome product!!

Our website uses PHP 5.6 however, the CRON servers use PHP 5.3. Of course per the logs, our CRON jobs are NOT running because Akeeba Backup 5.1.2 requires PHP 5.4. What are we supposed to do to get the CRON (automatic) jobs to run at night? What version of Akeeba Backup do we need to revert to to make this work?

Ask your host to give you the correct path to the PHP 5.6 CLI executable for use with CRON jobs. If you decide to uninstall Akeeba Backup 5 and install Akeeba Backup 4.7.2 (the last PHP 5.3 compatible release) you will receive no support at all from us and also miss out on all the new features and any bug fixes we introduce in our software. It's far easier asking your host to give you the path to the PHP 5.6 CLI executable and use in your CRON jobs. As a bonus your backup will be far faster too!
