EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:
Update sites seem to disappear, and can't be rebuilt. i found a previous fix for AK 4.7 where you in stall a file updatesitefix-master.zip which does seem to fix it, but if i try to rebuild it goes back to the error and does not rebuild.

Not sure if this is an akeeba problem but not having any luck elsewhere and it seems there was a past issue with this.

If i try to rebuild update sites i get this error:
0 Database error - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 3 SQL=SELECT extension_id FROM #__update_sites_extensions WHERE update_site_id =

It does not seem to be causing any other problems but i would like to fix it if you can help. Thank you.

This is not an issue with Akeeba Backup. That happened with exactly one version (4.7.0) and it was fixed in less than 30 hours.

What you have there is a problem with Joomla itself. The update sites are not completely removed, they only seem to contain an invalid record. I can't advise on the best way to deal with it. I would try to delete the contents of the #__update_sites and #__update_sites_extensions tables and then reuse the Extensions, Manage, Update Sites, Rebuild. HOWEVER! You should note that 1. I have never tried that on any site, not even a test site and 2. I am confident in my skills to rebuild update tables manually if it's necessary. If you decide to do what I described please make sure you keep a copy of the contents of these two tables before doing anything else.
