Description of my issue:

I tested kickstart  one time a few years back when I purchased your products.  I am in need of using it again to restore hacked/corrupted  site.  I am going to test run first to a sub directory.  But don't remember what happens with database information.  Does it set up database in new name?  Or do I need to rename old DB before I start?

Thanks,

David DeWitt

David,

Technically, Kickstart is just the extractor. It hands off to ANGE, which does the restore part. ANGIE will prompt you for the database connection details, it will default to the old database if it can connect to it. You need to manually create a new database and user if you want that done, ANGIE does not have sufficient rights to do that. You could just manually drop the tables on the existing database, that would make sure there are no kooties hiding in it.
