Hi, I have just installed Akeeba Backup Pro 6.2.0 on Joomla 3.8.12 and PHP7
I backed up the basic installation of Joomla and Akeeba, and started to restore them.

I am getting the issue described in #20218, where none of the labels are resolved to correct text, and just show "generic_lbl_yes" tags
E.g.:
GENERIC_LBL_WHATTODONEXT GENERIC_BTN_RTFM GENERIC_BTN_VIDEO
GENERIC_CRUMB_MAIN GENERIC_CRUMB_DATABASE GENERIC_CRUMB_SETUP GENERIC_CRUMB_FINALISE
MAIN_HEADER_REQUIRED
MAIN_LBL_REQUIRED

MAIN_LBL_SETTING MAIN_LBL_CURRENT_SETTING
MAIN_LBL_REQ_PHP_VERSION GENERIC_LBL_YES
MAIN_LBL_REQ_MCGPCOFF GENERIC_LBL_YES
MAIN_LBL_REQ_REGGLOBALS GENERIC_LBL_YES
MAIN_LBL_REQ_ZLIB GENERIC_LBL_YES
MAIN_LBL_REQ_XML GENERIC_LBL_YES
MAIN_LBL_REQ_DATABASE GENERIC_LBL_YES
MAIN_REQ_MBLANGISDEFAULT GENERIC_LBL_YES
MAIN_REQ_MBSTRINGOVERLOAD GENERIC_LBL_YES
MAIN_LBL_REQ_INIPARSER GENERIC_LBL_YES
MAIN_LBL_REQ_JSON GENERIC_LBL_YES
MAIN_LBL_REQ_CONFIGURATIONPHP GENERIC_LBL_YES
MAIN_HEADER_RECOMMENDED
MAIN_LBL_RECOMMENDED

MAIN_LBL_SETTING MAIN_LBL_RECOMMENDED_VALUE MAIN_LBL_CURRENT_SETTING

Can you tell me how to correct this fo UK English?
Thanks, Mike

Mike,

English should be the default language, it should also be the fallback language if your Joomla! site is set to a language that is not available in Akeeba.

Before we get too far into this, please clear your browser cache to see if that will fix the problem.

Please download 6.2.0 from our Downloads page and install it twice, back to back, without doing anything else in between. Do not uninstall, that will lose all your settings and possibly your stored backup archives. This "install twice" trick usually works around a bug in the Joomla! installer where it fails to install all of the files during an install or update.

This is a bug. The language strings were not included in the package of the previous release. I am releasing a new version today which fixes this issue. You can take a new backup with the new version and the problem will be resolved.
