Please look at the bottom of this page (under Support Policy Summary) for our support policy summary, containing important information regarding our working hours and our support policy. Thank you!

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue: This is not an issue. Just a query. Hi, I have Vik Booking and Vik Channel Manager (VCM) 2 components running on Joomla. The VCM was a recent addition, over the past couple of days, and I have not done a test restore in a while. I am expecting that once I do a restore from the backups all settings will be restored as well. Any Thoughts ?

I'm not familiar with either component. Akeeba Backup will restore exactly the same settings as were in effect when you did the backup. I have a case where the site runs a family tree program which is not a Joomla! component. If I were to restore that backup to another server, I would need to manually adjust the database settings, etc. because that family tree program does not pick them up from Joomla!.

So my answer is a definite probably. The days of Joomla! component authors hard coding settings in the component configuration is pretty much past.
