Hi,
My site's database table ak_storage is now at 70MB in size.
1) is there a way to set akeeba backup pro to not make this table so large?
2) may I safely delete all the rows in this table (after backing it up)?

Thanks,
Ari

You can manually delete the records but there is a more graceful way.

Go to Plugins and open the System - Admin Tools plugin. The bottom entry is "Maximum security exceptions log entries". You can set that to any number to control the number of entries in the log. It is probably set to zero now, which keeps all entries.

Note that Admin Tools won't purge the log all at once, it does it over time so as not to hit a PHP timeout. Be patient.

Great to see this is already built in and I was just misconfiguring. Such a nice product!
Thanks for the assistance.

Hmm, after decreasing the "manual security exceptions log entries" option, there has been no change in the size of the table. So, looking at it in phpMyAdmin, there are about 150 rows, each from a day between 2017 and 2018, and each row's data column value is 491,292 characters long. If I take a few of the values and compare them by making hashes out of their data, they hash to the same value, so each row has the same value.
I'm not sure what generated these, what they represent, or why they're not deleted with decreasing the "manual security exceptions log entries" option, but I think I'll just delete all but the most recent row and see how it goes.
Thanks again,
Ari

It's just log data so it won't hurt anything to delete the rows.
