Description of my issue:
Re Akeeba subscriptions
Hi there, posting here as its the only way I can seem to post - cannot find the post button under akeeba subscriptions :s
Anyway I was wondering if there was an easy way to hide a menu item from non-subscribers in joomla? Im not using akeebasubscriptions for a commercial purpose, but think this would be ideal for me to give free extra content to my users who visit and use the site on an almost daily basis... a sort of incentive..
Ive read through the instructions, and from what I can see I somehow need to configure the content restriction plugin, when i select it from the menu, i get absolutely no options to configure whatsoever. Im very confused! Managing the actual members looks to be very easy... just special menu item I cannot fathom out:/
Any help greatly appreciated! Thank you

PS I purchased akeeba backup and admin tools - they are awesome and easy to use - thank you for making these excellent products!!!!!

Hi Gavin,

You can't find the post button in the Akeeba Subscriptions category because you need a different subscription level (MINISUPPORT or AKEEBADELUXE) to request support for it. But, hey, that's an easy question since you're using Joomla! 2.5. Here's the recipe:
- Create a new User Group, let's call it "Subscribers"
- Create a new View Level, let's call it "Subscriber View Level" and assign only the "Subscribers" group to it.
- Set your article to be visible only by the "Subscriber View Level"
- Create a subscription level, let's say it has a title of MYLEVEL
- Publish the "Akeeba Subscriptions - Joomla! 1.6 User Groups" and use this mapping:
MYLEVEL=Subscribers
in both fields
If you have existing subscribers in the MYLEVEL subscription level, just go to the Subscriptions view and click "Run Integrations". Done!

Note: If you also want to hide the menu pointing to the restricted article, just set the menu's view level to "Subscriber View Level" and you're set.

Actually, this is how I have implemented all subscriber-only content on this site (running Joomla! 2.5) so, yes, it's fully tested and working on Joomla! 2.5 :)

Wow this is awesome, didnt expect a reply so soon on a Sunday!
Everything you said was perfect and Im able to create subscriptions manually, just what I needed!

I was asked by a couple of people if I would be able to use this to make an actual payment page for them, I dont know if its possible to add Verotel to your list of payment plugins?

Another suggestion I have might be to have a choice between using the name and username in the view. Currently it says 'username' but infact displays the name instead, I could be missing something.

When I am able to, I will be writing some very good reviews on the joomla extentions directory. Your components are simply amazing, they work without hassle, and the fast support is just unbelievable! Shame not everyone can be like this!!!

You're welcome!

Regarding extra payment processors, please give me their integration documentation and I'll see if integrating with Akeeba Subscriptions is possible.

Regarding the view, I am not sure I follow you? Which view is that?

Hi!

Our developer has just finished writing the payment plugin. It's currently available on our latest dev release (rev115E94C). Please install it on a live site (local sites can not connect to payment processors successfully) and test it. Remember to download the documentation PDF file and follow the setup instructions outlined in there. There are a few steps you have to do in your payment processor's site before you can successfully user the new payment plugin we developed for you. Any questions / remarks are more than welcome!

Thank you in advance for your feedback!
