Description of my issue:
I've changed my FTP password - when I enter the new password in the DirectFTP configuration and test it works fine but the moment I Apply or Save it's giving an error message saying the username/password are invalid...

Any ideas?

Akeeba Backup doesn't check your DirectFTP connection information when you are applying or saving the settings. I guess you get the error message either when you click on the "Test FTP Connection" or when backing up, not when clicking on Apply or Save. Would you mind posting a screenshot of the error and clarifying when you receive the error?

Hi,

Thanks for the quick reply.

You're right. The error message doesn't come up when I click Apply or Save it comes up when I 'Test FTP Connection' after applying or saving.

Attached the error message I get.

Thanks

This error message means that the password is invalid. If you are sure you typed in the correct password, please check that you password consists of only lowercase and uppercase unaccented Latin letters (a-z, A-Z), numbers (0-9), dashes, underscores and dots. Other characters may be stripped off by Joomla! when you are submitting the settings form (i.e. clicking on Apply or Save), corrupting your FTP password and making it invalid.
