Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Have I searched the tickets before posting? Yes
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? Yes, Automatic Backup
Joomla! version: 1.5.26
PHP version: 5.2.17
MySQL version: 5.0.77
Host: (optional, but it helps us help you)
Akeeba Backup version: Pro 3.4.3

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue: I'm trying to setup automatic backups. My web hosting is Windows based and it doesn't support CRON, instead it has a user interface that asks me for a URL to run. See attached image.

My question is, how do I create the URL needed to run Akeeba Pro? would the following work?
http://mysite.com/administrator/components/com_akeeba/altbackup.php&nbsp-profile=1
I have just a single profile, what about?
http://mysite.com/administrator/components/com_akeeba/altbackup.php

If the above would not work, what are my alternatives?

Thanks,

nicholas

The akeeba-backup.php and akeeba-altbackup.php scripts are only meant to be run from the command line. You cannot access them through a URL. You will need to use the front-end backup feature.

WARNING!!! As you'll read in the page I linked you, you CAN NOT use your host's pseudo-CRON facility to schedule backups. The front-end backup URL has to issue 302 redirections after each backup step in order to avoid timeouts. Hosts do not follow redirections and they end up cancelling the backup. You will have to use the low cost, third party webcron.org service which is compatible with Akeeba Backup's front-end backup.
