Description of my issue: I just updated several sites to Admin Tools 2.4.0. In the process I have three sites that have failed to create a restore point. One I stopped and then tried to do a backup. All three of these failed at the "Embedding installer in the archive" phase. All three of them are reporting "Last server response 0s ago".

The process hangs at the step described. If I click the button to return to the control panel I get an error screen which I've attached. This screen is displayed for just a second and I don't have time to click the Troubleshooting button. By invoking the screen capture I can freeze it and thus get this shot.

Attached is the log file. This is the result when attempting to update to Admin Tools 2.4.0. The restore point process fails. If trying a backup it's the same result.

The log file doesn't show any kind of error. This can mean one of the following:

- You are running out of disk space. Please check with your host. Do note that on hosts with "unlimited" or very large (in the dozens or hundreds of Gb) of disk space you are usually allocated a much smaller quote –usually 100Mb or 1Gb– and you have to request them to extend your quota when you reach it. On such hosts you will get a backup failure when you have reached that quota even though the hosting control panel may report something like "1 out of 300Gb used".

- You have a browser issue. Please try using a different browser, e.g. Chrome. FWIW I am also a Mac user and have confirmed that Akeeba Backup works just fine with the latest versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Opera on my Mac. However there is also the possibility of having installed an application (usually: a firewall or an antivirus) or a browser plugin which interferes with the backup. It's best to try the backup from a completely different PC, connected to the Internet with a different ISP to determine if it's something on your computer.

- You have a Javascript error caused by a third party plugin. When on the backup page press CMD-ALT-I (Command, Alt and i) at the same time. It opens the Web Inspector window. Click inside that window and press CTRL-5. If there are any errors on the page they should be listed there.

If all else fails please post back so that I can make the ticket private and arrange for a way to have me take a look directly on your site.

I tried this with Firefox and it worked fine. I usually use Safari for maintenance type tasks while I use Firefox for development. Odd that only three sites would not work in Safari? I'll keep an eye on it.

Thanks. I'm done with this one.

I am not sure why Safari wouldn't work for you. Some people have already said the same, but I do see that Safari on Mac OS X Mountain Lion works fine on my Mac and on the Macs of all the people I know. I have no idea what it is as I cannot replicate this :(
