Joomla! version: (unknown)
PHP version: 5.3.16
MySQL version: 5.1.65-cll
Host: http://pardes.trendupgraphic.com
Akeeba Backup version: Akeeba Backup Professional 3.6.8 (2012-10-20)

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:
I want to exclude .svn folders from backup. When I try to add a rule from the recipe like "#/.svn$#" I get this error in a modal window: "An error occurred - An error occurred while applying the filter for """
I’ve test to add the rule with Safari 6.0.2 (8536.26.17) and Chrome 23.0.1271.64

I believe your rule should be
#.svn$#
If you still get an error, please check with your host if they have mod_security2 or mod_evasive installed on their Apache server. If so, have them check if their rules would block this kind of regular expression, confusing it with a hack attack (yes, it has happened again)

With #.svn$# as rule, it works.
Thanks,
