Hi,

I've read the User's guide and topics regarding Google Drive integration and whether you should want it or not, because of their terms of use.

But since the last post about this issue their API / SDK are changed, the restrictions to use a Chrome app and place it in the Chrome webstore are dropped. So the Drive API can actually be used for web applications without relying on Chrome of their Webstore.

Will their be any change Google Drive support will be integrated to Akeeba Backup?

I really like Admin Tools and Backup and use Dropbox and Box.net to store backups. But I would also like the possibility to store them in Google Drive.

Kind regards
Machiel

No, I won't. Their library is licensed under the Apache license which is incompatible with GPL. It would require building a library from scratch for a service which is quite possible that it becomes restricted again in the future. Moreover, Google is known to trash their APIs every 1-2 years, meaning that we'd most likely have to go through this again in a rather short time. That's too much fuss for nothing.
