Joomla! version: 2.58
PHP version: 5.3.3
MySQL version: 5.0.95
Host: singlehop dedicated server
Akeeba Backup version: 3.6.10

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:I am not sure where to have found my issue above as it is not failing its just stuck in the backup.

It is just stuck in statistics. I believe the process may have finished at least on the ftp but who knows if there is any actual errors. In the backup folder it has 2 .jpa files which i think is all it needs. It has been stuck in updating for a long time now. Note it is getting responses from server but not updating.

This is a failed installation or update of Akeeba Backup. Export your settings, uninstall Akeeba Backup, reinstall it and the import your settings back to Akeeba Backup. This will fix this issue.
