Let's first do a sanity check. Please do check that the "Part size for split archives" is already set to 10 Mb. If it's not, set it again and retry backing up. If the value is already 10Mb, try 5Mb and back up your site again.

If this doesn't help, go to Configuration and click on "Configure..." buttin next to the Database Backup Engine row. Set the following settings:

  • Generate extended INSERTs: Checked
  • Max packet size for extended INSERTs: 128 Kb
  • Size for split SQL dump files: 0.50
  • Rows per batch: 1000

Try backing up again. If this still fails, try these settings:

  • Minimum execution time: 1 second
  • Maximum execution time: 7 seconds
  • Runtime bias: 75%

If that still fails, try these settings:

  • Minimum execution time: 5 second
  • Maximum execution time: 3 seconds
  • Runtime bias: 50%

If all else fails please ZIP and attach your new backup log file so that I can take a look.

I changed the settings as you instructed in the first section above:

  • Generate extended INSERTs: Checked
  • Max packet size for extended INSERTs: 128 Kb
  • Size for split SQL dump files: 0.50
  • Rows per batch: 1000

I am now getting a completely different error. Is this an error with my host cloudaccess, or is this something wrong with the configuration?

Backup Failed

The backup operation has been halted because an error was detected.
The last error message was:

Couldn't write to the SQL dump file /mnt/data/vhosts/hamlethub.com/httpdocs/administrator/components/com_akeeba/backup/1bf458e6.sql; check the temporary directory permissions and make sure you have enough disk space available.

Please click the 'View Log' button on the toolbar to view the Akeeba Backup log file for further information.

We strongly recommend going through the step-by-step instructions in our troubleshooting wizard to easily resolve this issue yourself. If this doesn't help, please do not hesitate to ask for support in our support forum. Do note that you need an active subscription to request assistance through the forum. If Akeeba Backup Professional was installed on your site by a third party -e.g. your web developer- please do not contact AkeebaBackup.com for support. If you do post to our forum, please remember to ZIP and attach your backup log file in your post so that we can help you faster.

You ran out of free disk space. Try removing any unused / unnecessary big files on your site. If this doesn't help you'll have to buy more space from your host.

For what is worth, Akeeba Backup runs perfectly on CloudAccess. In fact, the backup solution they have integrated in their control panel is based on Akeeba Engine, the backup engine used in Akeeba Backup. If you run into a problem on CloudAccess.net it's either lack of disk space or. more rarely, a memory outage or timeout issue. In your case it seems that lack of disk space is the culprit.
