Description of my issue:

Hi,

I got Akeeba Pro to be able to have the Restore Points system (we never know what can happen!).

I have Akeeba backup installed fine and working correctly now.

But two days ago I installed a new component (Acymailing).

I realized today that I did not check if Akeeba had created a Restore Point.

I just looked and nothing appears on the Restore Points page ! (I precise that the Restore points plug-in is Enabled)

Would you jknow why ?

A restore point backup is only create when you update an existing component, not when you are installing a new component. Think about it. When you install a new component there are no existing component files and db information to back up. It wouldn't make sense to take a completely empty restore point backup, would it?
