Description of my issue:

After working through kickstart, I can view the backend OK but get the following error message when I attempt to view the front end.

Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/htdocs/libraries/joomla/cache/storage/memcache.php on line 114

XAMPP doesn't support Memcache. You have to edit your configuration.php and change:

public $cache_handler = 'memcache';

to

public $cache_handler = 'file';
