Joomla! version: 2.5.8

MySQL version: 5.5.29-log
Host: JustHost
Akeeba Backup version: 3.6.12

Akeeba Subscriptions version: 2.5.1

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

When I use an Akeeba Backup file with Kickstart to create a clone or test site for development purposes, as soon as it is installed, Akeeba Subscriptions starts sending out expiration notices before I can delete the users or stop it. This is confusing to the members of my site, and annoying to the ones who had let their membership lapse because they were no longer interested.

So I'm looking for some way to keep these messages from being sent out in my cloned site, either by turning something off on my live site temporarily just while creating a backup specifically for my clone site, or if there is some way to delay the sending of these emails for a few minutes until I have a chance to delete all the user, or is there some other way that I'm missing?

Thank you for your help - and for two great extensions.

Hello Sue,

I will tell you how I deal with the same issue. Upon restoration and before visiting my restored site for the first time I remove the following directories:

  • plugins/system/asexpirationcontrol
  • plugins/system/asexpirationnotify
  • plugins/akeebasubs/adminemails
  • plugins/akeebasubs/affemails
  • plugins/akeebasubs/subscriptionemails

This neuters the ability of Akeeba Subscriptions to send emails.
