Description of my issue:

Hi Nicholas,

I am attempting to restore a backup of a site that was developed on my dev server. I am restoring it on the production server. Kickstart is giving me an error on the Temp Directories.

Temporary Directory
/home/ergonomi/domains/lads/tmp No Logs Directory
/home/ergonomi/domains/lads/logs No Cache Directories
/home/lesamisd/public_html/cache Yes

How do I solve this, or can I safely ignore during the restoriation and then address it afterwards?

Ignore it for now, proceed with the restoration and then change the permisisons of the tmp and logs directories OR (recommended) enable the FTP layer in Joomla!'s Global Configuration.

Hi Nicholas, the error I think is that the log and temp directories are pointing to the dev server's hierarchy, and not the prod server.

/home/ergonomi/domain/lads/tmp  &  /home/ergonomi/domain/lads/logs

Whereas the hierarchy should be:

/home/lesamisd/public_html/tmp  &  /home/lesamisd/public_html/logs

Is that a problem?

Also, I have NEVER successfully been able to enable the FTP layer, although I would love to do it. Any tips?

You can change them later on in the restoration process. If they are still unwriteable you can enable the FTP layer. If you can't enabled the FTP layer, take a look towards the end of this page for step by step instructions: https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/troubleshooter/abinstallation.html
