Description of my issue:

I build websites and Akeeba Backup works fine on all of them except my site.

I have tried the latest version and 2 other old versions and I get the following error

AJAX Loading Error
HTTP Status: 0 (error)
Internal status: error
XHR ReadyState: 0
Raw server response:

I don't think I have any server restrictions because I can see the .jpa file in my FTP connection and it is 19.5 Gbs

It just won't complete

Wild guess: you upgraded to Joomla! 2.5 from 1.5 and you had an older Akeeba Backup version installed. Please let me know if I'm close. I'm trying to establish a pattern on when that issue with the missing database table happens.

OK, back to your problem solution. Try upgrading to Akeeba Backup 3.6.12. If that still fails, uninstall and reinstall Akeeba Backup. Uninstalling and reinstalling will always create the missing database table which causes the backup to run in an infinite loop.

Thanks for the reply

I have only ever run Joomla 2.5 but have updated it quite a few times with the latest Joomla updates.

It sounds like I need to uninstall and do a fresh instal

What is the best way to uninstall  Akeeba

Thanks

Before uninstalling I'd like you to upgrade to Akeeba Backup 3.6.12.

If this doesn't solve the issue you have, start by exporting your backup profiles (from the Profiles page). This will allow you to import them after the reinstallation so that you don't lose any data. You will also need to download your backups to your computer. Remember that uninstalling Akeeba Backup will remove all data from the database and all backups from the default backup output directory (administrator/componetns/com_akeeba/backup). This action will be irreversible.

Then go to Extensions, Manage Extensions and uninstall the Akeeba Backup component (com_akeeba). All of the related extensions are removed with it.

After you reinstall Akeeba Backup you can go back to the Profiles page and import your backup profiles again.

OK I have just updated to the latest version and am now doing a backup.

It will take some time

If this fails I will uninstall, reinstall and try that

Thanks for the response.

I have to go out now so if the above don't work I will let you know tomorrow
