Yes, 3.4.3 didn't have the Scheduling tab. It was added several releases later. You can consult the documentation in PDF format for version 3.4.3 for scheduling information. You can get it from https://www.akeebabackup.com/download/akeeba-backup/akeeba-backup-3-4-3/akeeba-backup-guide-pdf-zip.raw.

Please note that the on-line documentation doesn't apply to your version. Akeeba Backup 3.4.3 on Joomla! 1.5 is using a different CRON backup script (administrator/components/com_akeeba/backup.php) than versions 3.5.0 and later on Joomla! 2.5/3.0 (cli/akeeba-backup.php). The difference has to do with the differences between Joomla! 1.5 and 2.5/3.0. Joomla! 1.5 didn't have native support for command line scripts; I had to work around this limitation by providing my own Joomla! environment for the script to run. Joomla! 1.7 and later added native support for command-line scripts and a dedicated folder for these scripts, making it much easier, faster and stable adding support for CRON job scripts – which are command line scripts, actually. The documentation was changed accordingly when we dropped Joomla! 1.5 support. The PDF documentation, however, which is specific to each Akeeba Backup version has not been modified. That's what you should use for these older versions.
