The error message you get means that your server is using PHP 5.2 or earlier, not PHP 5.3 as you wrote in your ticket. Most likely your host offers multiple versions of PHP and the default one is PHP 5.2. You have to ask your host about the proper way to have PHP 5.3 enabled by default on your site. This usually is either some lines in your site's .htaccess file, a configuration switch in your hosting control panel or something that your host can do if you ask them. Basically, you have to ask your host to enabled PHP 5.3 by default. I can't do it for you or help you in any other way. Only your host can do that.

I am amazed. The server where I made the backup is 5.3.x but in the Cpanel of the destination server I saw indeed that the PHP version was 5.2 Β I hacked .htaccess and everything works correctly.

Thanks

Things like that happen frequently. Most hosts advertise the maximum or recommended PHP version instaleld, not the one used by default ;)
