I would like to know how to remove akeeba complately from a site that is non-functioning.  I'm not sure if it's conflicting with something but nothing I have tried is working and the only thing I did recently is update Akeeba product - 2 or 3 times over the last couple of days - 2.4.4 to 2.5 to 2.5.1 and from 3.6.12 to 3.7.0 to 3.7.1 and now 3.7.2.  I really don't know whats happening but my site is gone!

Please help.

Thank you

First try these instructions: https://www.akeebabackup.com/home/news/55-general/1502-troubleshooting-instructions-for-feb-2013-releases.html They not only explain what is going on, but also how to fix the problems. Please note that your issue is caused either by a very old version of Joomla! (pre-2.5.6, you'll have to upgrade to 2.5.9) or some really nasty Joomla! extensions installer bugs which cause Joomla! to "forget" to copy some files sometimes. Following the instructions above you will be able to not only restore access to your site but also successfully upgrade to the latest versions of our software. Trust me, it took me half a day of testing to write them in this concise form, after having thoroughly tested them.

Thank you - The instrcutions worked perfectly except for one piece... I already had 2.5.9 installed. Obviously something went wrong somewhere, Joomla Bugs as yoi mentioned, but I wasn't on an older version of Joomla.  Eiterh way, I love the products I just hate when something isn't working perfectly!  Yes, Yes, I know none of these things are ever perfectly when dealing with a slew of other extentions and Joomla itself.

Thank you for your understanding! The Joomla! installer bugs drove me bonkers the last 3 days. I sepnd the better part of yesterday working around most of them. Only one cannot be worked around and I hope that I'll have enough time to finally debug it and submit the bug fix to Joomla! (I just have to find 4-5 consequtive hours I can work on it)
