Description of my issue:

after installing the new 3.7.4. of akeeba backup today via the extension manager (normal update did not work), all the settings for POST-PROCESSING (Data processing engine) got lost. i had the former version installed and thought that all the settings would be the same. i did not run the config-wizard while installing the new version.

is this a bug in your version????

No, it's not a bug. In fact, I can't reproduce this issue on local test sites or on live sites. I'm not sure if it's related to your very old PHP version. I personally consider PHP 5.3.0 up to and including 5.3.4 to be very unstable (not to mention outdated and insecure) and would never use them on a live site. I wouldn't be too surprised if that was the cause of this issue.
