Hi Nicholas,

After upgrading to the latest version of akeebabackup i get a 403 forbidden error when i click on the akeebabackup menuitem.

I read a few posts about this but am unable to get to the settings.

How can i repair my installation without reinstalling akeebabackup?

thank you in advance,

Roy Storcken

Hi Nicholas,

Same issue on a different site after upgrading the joomla installation to 2.5.10 and upgrading admintools to the latest version. I did not upgrade akeebabackup on this one.

You need to install both Akeeba Backup 3.7.6 and Admin Tools 2.5.4, preferably in this order. Remember that due to a Joomla! issue you have to install each component twice in a row, without uninstalling in between. I have personally tried that on two live sites and two local test sites running on Joomla! 2.5.10. I know it works. The two important bits are the versions (both components need to be updated) and the need to install each component twice on sites affected by the Joomla! installer bug which causes JInstaller to "forget" to copy the updated files the first time an update is installed.

The Joomla! version does not have any effect. The above steps were carried out in two sets of sites, one set running on 2.5.9 and one set running on 2.5.10. The only thing you have to do is update both Akeeba Backup and Admin Tools. I repeat: the Joomla! version is irrelevant.

ok. I didn't have this problem before so i thought it had something to do with the joomla core update.
thx again.
