I get a 500 error on installation, and the second message below, when trying to rum Backup.

On installation...

The website encountered an error while retrieving http://www.sheriffhuttonnursery.co.uk/administrator/index.php?option=com_akeeba&view=backup&tag=restorepoint&type=component&name=akeeba&returnurl=index.php%3Foption%3Dcom_akeeba%26view%3Dinstaller%26task%3Drealinstall. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly.

When trying to start Backup

Your database tables are corrupt

Akeeba Backup has detected that its database tables are corrupt. This indicates a problem with your MySQL server. Please make sure that your host has at least MySQL 4.1 (5.0 or later recommended). Then try uninstalling and re-install the component. Backups can not be made unless this problem is fixed.

Try installing the component twice, without uninstalling in between, then load its control panel page three times. If the tables message doesn't go away you'll have to uninstall and reinstall.

Regarding the backup error, without a log file any guess is as good as mine.

That hasn't worked.

which components do I need to uninstall? Anything with Akeeba & Backup in the name?

Anything esle?

Just uninstall Akeeba Backup. All associated extensions are uninstalled automatically.

Hi Nicholas,

Repeated attempts to unisntall and re-install have failed.

I even tried an earlier version. No good.

BUT - I uninstalled AT Pro, and then succeeded in installing Backup 3.7.6.

I have since reinstalled AT pro 2.5.4 and all works!

Hope this helps in some small way!
